The Swampers: The Farmer Feeds Them All

7:30pm at the Heyde Center for the Arts, 3 S High St, Chippewa Falls

Jerry Way and The Swampers mark their 17th year by saluting Chippewa Valley farmers with original songs and stories written by Jerry Way. When Wisconsin became the 30th state in 1848, pioneer families had already begun homesteading farms in the Chippewa Valley - that essential agricultural work continues to this day.  The tools and methods are ever-evolving, but the mission remains the same—to feed the world.  “The Farmer Feeds Them All” chronicles the joys and hardships of life on the family farm. The musical lumberjack aggregation known as “The Swampers” features Amanda Tanzer Schafer, Kathy Danielson, Judy Brist, Jerry Way, Tim Danielson, and Rob Kuchta telling local stories, singing “swampgrass” harmonies and playing a wide variety of folk instruments. Community photographers and historical archives provide the big-screen photos that highlight this entertaining and educational show.  Admission: Adults $13, Seniors $12, Youth $6, Family of Four $32
